DAY 2: Link up and Converge
The second day will be dedicated to set up relationships between the different movements and transformative actions of the economy. Once we have defined the features of the field where we want to start our crops, we plan which species we will grow, and how could we make a better profit of the way these plants interact: some of them prepare the soil and nourish it for the following season, others offer shadow or bring support to different species... etc. Each plant communicates with its environment through its branches, leaves and roots, and sets up communication systems which cover broader lands.
These communications not only affect crops, but also woods, wild plants, fauna and the rest of life forms around the crops which grow in an spontaneous way. All of them shape an ecosystem in which different living things are interdependent. In a similar way, the different movements communicate, feedback, link and interact between them to create the common network of transformative economies.
We will try to find which are the points where their challenges converge, and how can they support and learn from each other to answer to these common challenges. We will value complementarities, mutual relationships, transversal alliances, links and symbiosis possibilities between the different movements.
We will work in groups, each of them composed by members of all movements and transformative actions. We will try to recognize different challenges, define necessary actions to answer these challenges, and to reach an agreement on which are more urgent.
Once we have identified the challenges, the working teams will organize around each of them. We will try to analyze again which is the substratum, which were the strategies used so far to answer each of these challenges, and which other transformative actions can we take from now on, taking advantage of the contacts and networking between the movements.
This second day will close with many itineraries through different initiatives and collectives from the transformative economies in the city of Barcelona, in order to get to know these projects in a more tangible way, and to exchange experiences.
