Netiquette (usage guidelines)
The Netiquette is a set of rules of acceptable behavior in the use of the digital tools of the WSFTE. These rules are necessary if we want the development of our tools to be in accordance with the respect for the people who participate in them. The use of the digital tools of which the WSFTE is composed implies the acceptance of these rules. (NOT complying with any of these basic rules of behaviour may mean the temporary silencing of the user or the permanent expulsion from the ON LINE FORUM and the DELETION of the contents).
- Follow the same standards of behavior and education in the ON-LINE FORUM and other tools of the WSFTE that you follow in your real life
- The technical team of the WSFTE is people. Respect our work times and the organization of the team. Don't be impatient and you'll see how your concern will be attended to with all the love in the world. Formulate your doubts or suggestions as requests, never as demands.
- Offensive content and/or content that violates the dignity and integrity of persons, such as comments and attitudes that are sexist, racist, xenophobic, LGBT, capacitating or otherwise discriminatory, are not permitted. These contents will be deleted and those responsible expelled from the ON LINE FORUM or other tools of the WSFTE. Neither will it be permitted to have advertising content, which does not refer to the subjects dealt with in the space, or which could be considered as spam.
-Be aware that the ON LINE FORUM and other digital tools of the WSFTE are public spaces. The contents and opinions published in these spaces are also public comments and opinions.
- Always respect the privacy of other users. Do not post content or conversations expressed through private channels without the consent of the people involved in these private conversations.
- Before you ask, look for information. It is very likely that your question has already been answered and that another user has posted the necessary information. For example, in the "Help" section of the ONLINE FORUM
- In virtual meetings, it respects speaking turns and the previously agreed topics on the agenda. See if other classmates have not yet participated and give your turn to speak so that they can participate. Do not interrupt and wait for each participant to complete his or her intervention. Always ask to speak: the facilitators will let you know when your turn comes.
- In your communications, write human-sized messages in a comfortable style. Just the way you like to read them. Always keep in mind that people's time is limited and they have to take care of themselves. Apply this principle also to your interventions in virtual meetings.
- From the technical team of the WSFTE we believe in open, shared and free knowledge, we encourage you to share and free yours, we have all the necessary tools !
- When writing, DO NOT USE CAPITAL LETTERS. On the net this is considered shouting.
- If you participate in the edition of a collaborative document, please respect the previous work. You can add your comments or suggestions; but do not delete, modify or cross out text already written.
- Be especially careful about expressing dissent. If you respect everyone's rights, no opinion is more valid than the rest. Try to express your concerns without the ultimate goal of convincing or "being right".
- A suggestion for evaluating your interventions. If you make a criticism, try to offer an alternative proposal as well. If you make an alternative proposal, try to offer to carry it out. As the Hacker culture proclaims: "Don't propose, JUST DO IT!!!"
- And in general: Never forget that the person on the other side of the screen is also another human being like you.
