Brief Description: Market logic cannot be designed emancipatory, since it always produces artificial scarcity, alienation, structural hate, compulsory growth, competitive advantage for those who pay less for people, animals or nature as well as declining terms of trade between both care & production and primary & industrial products.
The alternative is a society without surplus property, build on everybody's freedom to dedicate one's own life/time to what matters. The solidarity activities seen across the globe during the covid-19 pandemic and those who already existed before, are going into this direction.
Coordinating these efforts with dismantling competition on the market, and replacing it with commoning while also democratizing the state and guaranteeing universal basic resources for everyone, we can start with this transformation NOW. NOW is also the name of a new network which combines different approaches of transformative economies proposing these three ways for transformation.

Brief Description:
The session will explore how the recently adopted National Strategic plan to End Gender Based Violence and Femicide in South Africa can offer one of the possibilities of a policy tool to transform the GBV lanscape for lasting change.
South Africa remains one of the most unequal countries in the world, with unrelenting poverty.
It is our belief, that only through a restructured economy, with feminist economic models, can GBV be a reality of the past. The policy framework, offers a chapter on building womxns economic power as a critical pillar in the fight against violence.
Whilst we know that a policy alone, will not do much, the session will look at the possibilities of what the recently adopted policy in co-creating a politics of economic transformation for womxn and gender non-binary people.

Brief Description: Cooperatives, a strong link of ESS constitutes the domain of empirical application of this activity articulating around the evaluation of performance in the cooperative management which unfortunately remains a mine badly exploited and not much acknowledged in the Moroccan economic arms depot. This activity has no ambition to solve all difficulties which put down today the institution of ESS to Morocco.
Methodology and expected results: We offer only to give some landmarks to sketch a model of cooperatives which will be able to take different shapes according to his basic elements and according to their links between them to exceed hindrances which slow down the emergence of this last across a frame of reference of the indicators of performance within cooperatives to be able to disclose force and weaknesses allowing strategical planning on the court, medium, and long-term.

We are in the midst of an epoch paradigm shift, from inequality to solidarity. Capitalism’s contradictions have birthed four great, increasingly interconnected social movements – anti-classist, anti-racist, feminist, and ecology. We are deconstructing inequality and creating new, solidarity economy values, practices, and institutions, based on love, cooperation, equity, and sustainability. There are many ways that each of us can participate in this epoch shift.
Methodology and expected results: The goal is to provide the participants with a broad view of the current process of economic transformation that is currently underway, from a paradigm of economic and social life based on inequality in all dimensions, to one centered in equality and solidarity. The expectation is that this perspective will help orient and inspire individuals and organizations who are working to transform economics.

Brief Description:
The COVID-19 pandemic is aggravating socioeconomic inequalities, causing unprecedented joblessness, and pushing many countries into debt and economic crises. The pandemic is accelerating in Latin America and some parts of Asia and Africa where health and welfare systems are precarious. In the global North governments have responded with massive economic stimulus packages that will have long-lasting impacts. At the same time, the pandemic provides an opportune moment to rethink and radically reshape economic structures so that they prioritise, guarantee and invest in the health and wellbeing of communities and the planet. The round-table discussion on "COVIDeconomics toward an Economy of Life" will reflect on: (1) the ethical and moral implications of the health and economic emergency; and (2) the short- and long-term socioeconomic transformations that are needed to alleviate suffering, ensure a just and sustainable recovery, as well as address the roots of the crisis.

Inter-movement spaces are meeting points for thematic and territorial confluences, organizations and individuals. The objective is to propose how the different actors can contribute to transform the relations and flows of power, knowledge, economic and financial, and with nature. Likewise, to provide inputs from the confluences to respond to the challenges that have to do with the process of the WSFET itself.
The challenges around which the conversation will be configured refer to the relationship between the movements of the TE and the Forum process itself: as well as the 4 dimensions of transformation (knowledge, economic and financial flows, nature and power flows):
- The Forum process
- Transformative and liberating education (Transformation of relations and knowledge flows)
- Visibility and storytelling (Transformation of relationships and knowledge flows)
- Global-local work and intermove
- Relationship with the State and corporations (Transformation of power relations and flows)
- Governance and self-organization
- Construction of T.E. knowledge and practices (Transformation of economic and financial relations and flows)
- New technologies (Transformation of economic and financial relations and flows)
- Life at the Centre (Transformation of Relations with Nature)
- Own strategy
Participate in the conversation to build a pact and a common agenda among movements in transformative economies.

Brief Description: The climate change and COVID-19 crises show us that conventional global value chains have negative impacts on people and planet and that excessive reliance on global value chains can be a risk. Calls are being made to switch to a local economy. Yet, what would a total localisation of trade mean in terms of global social justice? Should short supply chains be measured in terms of distance? what about Fair Trade initiatives, South-North, but also North-North or South-South? How can we ensure that the ecological transition does not come at the expense of international solidarity and equity?

This activity is a follow up on the Cooperative federated open technologies for systemic change activity we will engage the community in a conversation about interoperability.
Several successful cartography initiatives have consolidated in the different communities of the commons and many dialogs are starting to reach some interoperability.
Some preliminary requirements need to be in place such as data format validations, but other are to be discussed such as the pathway towards ActivityPub and SOLID compatibility.
Discuss what would be the objective of a minimal interoperability, such as redundancy and shared data validation group.

Activity description
Participating organizations, networks and entities can register their transformative initiatives: struggles, campaigns, projects, policies and practices that reflect the search for transformative economies, in the broadest sense. We look for initiatives that respond to the great global challenges from concrete and localized practices.
From June 30th, if you have not done so previously on join.transformadora.org you can register your initiatives to this program here
By adding your initiatives:
- These can be entered in a directory with the aim of making the existing transformative initiatives visible.
- The ones that receive more support in the forum.transformadora.org, will be offered an opportunity to exchange a sponsorship, north/south, south/north, that guarantees the knowledge and mutual help, with the human and economic resources that are necessary, for the corresponding exchanges. The sponsored initiatives will participate in the program of the WSFTE 2020 in October, and will be incorporated into a digital publication and into a funding round with actors in the sector of ethical finance at a global level.
We group the challenges in the following categories:
Socio-political challenges:
- Transformation of the economy: New reproductive and care model. Plural and inclusive social markets. Economic Democracy.
- Transformation of power: What public policies? What institutions?
- Transformation of politics: What organizations to combat the capital-life contradiction? Strategies for coming together, gaining strength through sustained mobilization. Local and global movements.
Environmental challenges
- Transformation of the energy model.
- Transformation of the agri-food model.
- Transforming the Extractive Model.
Techno-scientific challenges
- Transformation of the educational and research model.
- Building digital commons, procomun platform cooperativism vs unicorn.
- What hardware and what software for a free culture society?
Add your initiatives to respond to these challenges.
